Praca stworzona na potrzeby wystawy Krew. Łączy i dzieli
Praca dotyka sfery profanum związanej z krwią menstruacyjną. Pojęcie czystości i nieczystości, jednoczesnego uświęcenia i odrzucenia kobiety, artystka odnosi do żydowskiej tradycji czystości rodzinnej i związanego z nią stanu nida (oddzielenia). Eliza Proszczuk wykonała sukienkę z błon jagnięcych. Symbolika zastosowanego materiału buduje złożoną treść pracy na poziomie emocjonalnym, intelektualnym i sensorycznym. Zamknięta w gablocie, nabiera charakteru osobistego artefaktu.
Work created for the exhibition Blood: Uniting and Dividing
The work touches on the profane sphere related to menstrual bleeding. The artist sets the notions of purity and impurity, at once the sanctification and rejection of a woman, in relation to the Jewish tradition of family purity and the state of niddah (separation). Eliza Proszczuk has made the dress out of lamb bladders. The symbolism of the material builds the complex imagery of the work
on the emotional, intellectual, and sensory levels. Enclosed inside a cabinet, the dress becomes
a personal artefact.
